Slow Start Sparks Spartans to Deliver More Offense Netting Them a 14-11 Win!!

Each round between Spartans and Movin Up ended at 3-2 so it came down to which team took the advantage more. Spartans started off losing the first round but quickly rectified that situation taking the 3-2 lead for the next four rounds and the win, 14-11. Marty Moynihan and Larry Zwicker were their top shots scoring four points each including Marty’s second runout to tie Ruben Soto for the lead, followed by Brian Hughes and Tim Yip who split six. Dave Savoy had a great night picking up his and the league’s first five game win this season. Larry Shower and Rick Hill put up two points apiece for the assists. Welcome to Jamie Pacheco, the newest member of Movin Up’s team. This week, it’s Spartans versus The Rat Pack who’s looking to take their first win of the season while Movin Up matches up with Breaking Bad.

Breaking Bad Takes Two in The Final Round for Much-Too-Close 13-12 Win!!
The match started with Breaking Bad taking round one 3-2, so spirits were high. That was until The Rat Pack responded with a 4-1 second round to go up 7-3. Not to be outdone, Breaking Bad delivered a 4-1 third round to retake the lead 8-7 at the top of the fourth. They split the last ten points so it all came down to Breaking Bad setting up for the match win with the one point advantage they grabbed in the first round. Ruben Soto was the top shooter for BB scoring four points followed by Sam Phillips and Ramon Salas who tripled. Justine Torres, one of the newest members of The Rat Pack, led their O with four points while Dave Ryall put up a 3-point assist. It’s Breaking Bad vs Movin Up this week, while The Rat Pack lines up opposite the only undefeated team, Spartans.
